Invitation to Support People with Down Syndrome in Physical Activities
I am writing on behalf of the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association(HKDSA) to seek your generous support for the development of physical activities for people with Down Syndrome(DS).
As you may know, people with DS often face unique challenges, including different health problems and early deterioration, which can significantly impact their daily lives and the lives of their caregivers. Participation in physical activities can enhance their physical fitness and help mitigating the effects of early ageing. Thus, we continuously organise physical training programs for them and encourage participation in public sports events, fostering both physical health and community engagement.
We would be grateful for your support through donations, which can be made in the following ways:
a) Funding running training or other kinds of sports for people with DS;
b) Supporting people with DS and their carers to participate in running or other sports events.
a) Providing resources to support training or participation in running events;
b) Supporting charity runners representing HKDSA in marathon events.
Offering channels to raise public awareness and encourage support for individuals with DS in their athletic pursuits.
Your generous contribution will make a significant difference in the lives of our service users and their carers, empowering them to lead healthier, more active lives. Together, we can foster a more inclusive community.
If there is any enquiry or any further information need, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Ivy Chan, our Communications & Development Officer, at 3427 8748. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a positive impact.
Your faithfully,
